As someone with insomnia and anxiety sometimes it is incredibly difficult for me to fall asleep. Racing thoughts keep my mind awake and me tired and uncomfortable. I started diffusing some of the oils I often use to induce feelings of calmness, peace and relaxation. Frankincense and Lavender are both oils that help calm feelings of panic and relax your mind and body into a state that prepares you for sleep, adding Vetiver into the mix amplifies relaxation.
Frankincense top properties include immunostimulant, anticancer, anti inflammatory, antidepressant, restorative and is commonly used to aid seizures, depression, immune system and cellular health, it has been proven to help keep you calm when experiencing high anxieties.
Lavender flower oil has antihistamine, antispasmodic, sedative, relaxing, soothing properties, it allows your brain to relax your body and helps you drift off to sleep quickly and helps you stay asleep through the night.
Vetiver oil’s aroma is sweet, woody, and smoky emitting a strong, earthy scent. It can help reduce anxiety and help reduce insomnia by acting as a sedative. Vetiver essential oil is rich in sesquiterpenes, which contain calming and grounding properties.
For aromatic use 5-10 drops into a diffuser filled with purified water or 1-2 drops into the palms of your hands rub together and inhale
-5 drops Lavender oil
-4 drops Frankincense oil
-1 drop Vetiver oil
